Rhode Island Weekend Weather for July 8/9, 2023 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 7/8/23:
Another frontal system moves into western New England and stalls out, with warm and humid air in place through the day, and the chance for a late day shower or isolated thunderstorm developing inland away from the bay. Morning lows in the upper 60’s rise to the upper 80’s with a light south-southeasterly breeze.
It’s a “B” day!
Sunday 7/9/23:

Sounding like a broken record, we’ll have another warm and humid day, with morning lows in the upper 60’s and afternoon highs in the mid 80’s and a light breeze out of the south. The only difference being low pressure developing along the stalled out frontal system adding some more cloud cover and the slightly increased chance for some showers developing to the northwest of the bay.
It’s a “B” day!

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena.
