Gimme’ Shelter – Dolce at Providence Animal Control Center

Hello there! I am a one year old terrier mix. I am about 50lbs, I just need a little more groceries.

I was left behind during an eviction, and I was tied to a fence rail and my person said they didn’t care what happened to me. They also only had me for a few months. I don’t remember any of that now!

I get to go on walks and learn basic manners and skills, I really got a do-over. I can live with teens because I still have some jumpy/mouthy puppy stuff going on or, a couple or a family with sturdy humans. I don’t have any stranger danger and like everyone I have met while I am out and about.

When you leave me at home to go buy me cookies and treats, the best thing for me would be to hang out in my crate so I can feel secure, AND lots of playtime beforehand please. I am a nice girl who is happy to have her second chance, please email about me!

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education. We do this by engaging the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

Since 2015, we have adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals. We will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents.
