Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) is pleased to announce exciting changes to its Board of Trustees, including the addition of four new board members.
Marcia S. Izzi, a Board member of ARRI since 2019 and most recently vice chair, was named chairperson effective January 1, 2023. Marcia’s professional background over three decades includes senior level administrative, financial, and strategic planning experience in non-profit academic and government organizations, including the MA Department of Public Health and Tufts Medical Center. Most recently, she has been consulting and supporting various philanthropic organizations in RI. Her extensive experience follows her undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and Masters of Public Health from Boston University. Marcia resides in South Kingstown and shares her home with two cats and two dogs, including Lucy, who was adopted from ARRI.
Joining ARRI are: William Beuka, former controller for an aviation company and course facilitator at eCornell; Katie Frost, who owned a communications consulting business for 25 years specializing in written communication for small nonprofits, chaired ARRI’s FurBall in 2022, and adopted her dog Frida from ARRI; Jud Saviskas, who most recently worked in higher education after owning a human resources services consulting firm and previous work in advertising; and Michael Squatrito, currently executive vice president at Rumford Pet Express and previously executive director of the Greater Providence YMCA.
“We are thrilled to welcome these talented and committed individuals to ARRI’s Board”, said Marcia Izzi, Board Chair. “Each of them brings substantial business experience, creativity, and a passion for pets and the people who love them. We look forward to their contributions as we chart the path for the organization’s future.”
