Questions on Hope Street Bike Lane? Group to show movie, hold Q&A TONIGHT
Tonight, PVD Streets Coalition will screen the film, The Streets Project. It will take place in the parking lot area of Festival Ballet’s building, at 825 Hope Street, across from Seven Stars Bakery on Hope Street from 6:30pm to 9pm.
Limited seating for approximately 100 is available – bring folding chairs in case seating is exceeded.
On August 25, the new documentary was distributed through PBS International and according to their promotion will “highlight the global, citizen-led fight to make our streets safer. Created by the multiple Emmy-winning team at Boyd Productions, The Street Project takes viewers across the globe in an uplifting narrative, from cycling-friendly meccas in Europe, to New York City and Phoenix, Arizona – one of the most dangerous cities in America for pedestrians – for a deep dive into how America views our streets and how they can be made safer.”
In the USA, the documentary is available for streaming on Amazon, Apple, and other platforms.
The film is here:
Mayor Jorge Elorza will speak and a Q & A will be held after the approximate 55 minute film is viewed.
PVD Streets Coalition notification of the event says, “As part of the larger Hope Street Temporary Trail, the Providence Streets Coalition and 3M are bringing this new documentary film by Jennifer Boyd to Providence.” Boyd is scheduled to be there.
