$6K Legislative Grant for Pawtucket’s Tolman/Shea Baseball Teams to go to Baseball Hall of Fame
Today, Tuesday, January 21st at 10am, Pawtucket legislators and dignitaries will gather to present a $6,000 Legislative Grant to the Shea and Tolman High Schools’ varsity baseball teams. This grant will allow them to travel to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. They will also play a game at historic Doubleday Field.
The teams will travel to Cooperstown April 14-15, during April school vacation, for this “once in a lifetime experience”. The legislative grant will cover transportation, a hotel stay and meals, tickets to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the rental of Doubleday Field.
Participating will be: State Representatives Karen Alzate (District 60, Pawtucket), Rep. Jean Philippe Barros (District 59, Pawtucket), Rep. Raymond Johnston, Jr. (District 61, Pawtucket), Rep. Mary Messier (District 62, Pawtucket), and Rep. Carlos Tobon (District 58, Pawtucket)
Also attending will be the Shea and Tolman varsity baseball team players, Tolman Head Baseball Coach Theodore Murray, and Shea Head Baseball Coach Dino Campopiano.
The presentation will be made at Tolman High School, 150 Exchange St, in Pawtucket.
