Your RI Weekend Weather Wrap, Jan. 22/23, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 1/22/22:
Not a lot of changes from yesterday, still cold in the Canadian air mass. Morning lows in the teens rise only to the upper 20’s with a light northerly breeze and scattered cloud cover through the day.
Sunday 1/23/22:
A weak cold front will move through in the afternoon, but only kick up some clouds, and not anything in the way of precipitation. A flake or two may flutter in the sky, but chances are slim. Morning lows in the low 20’s rise to the low 30’s with light breeze shifting to westerly.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
