Your RI Weather Today, Nov. 1, 2021 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
High pressure to our west drives in dry stable air helping to keep cloud cover to a minimum through the morning and early afternoon. Some cloud cover moves in later in the day, but nothing will become of this. We’ll start off with a morning temp around 50 rising to the upper 50’s with a northwesterly breeze gusting 20-25 mph, and then cooling to an evening low in the mid 40’s.
A brilliant Monday, if such a thing exists.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards not away from thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the Mccabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War. A meteorologist, John also is an avid golfer, runner, reader, hack guitarist, and walker. If you see a weatherman walking in a blue Jim Cantore weather jacket carrying an umbrella, look out!
