Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun – Dec. 21/22, 2019
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A weak mid-level area of low pressure will try to ruin our Saturday, but will have only limited success with cloud cover and only the slightest of chances for mixed precipitation along the south coast. We should remain dry over the bulk of the area with light winds out of the south less than 10 mph. Morning lows will sink to the mid-teens and afternoon “highs” will struggle to reach the upper 30’s.
The Winter Solstice strikes at exactly 11:19pm, so tomorrow will be the shortest day of the year, nowhere to go but up, right?
Sunday 12/22/19:
We have a chance for a decent day Sunday as the cloud producer trough is well east, and clear skies fill the horizon. Morning lows sink to the mid 20’s and afternoon highs rebound nicely, climbing to the mid and upper 40’s. Winds light out of the west, generally less than 10 mph.
