RI Weather Today – Thurs, Dec. 17, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Snow overnight will continue through midday and begin to loosen up early afternoon, a total accumulation in the Providence area of 8-10 inches, a few inches more to the northwest of I-295 and a few inches less over Narragansett Bay and surrounding communities. Wind will be an issue with gusts around 40 mph and a bit greater at times here and there, greatly reducing visibility as blowing snow can become blinding. Probably some power outages expected with downed branches and power lines. Highs in the low 30’s and lows in the low 20’s.
