RI Weather Today – August 4, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Tropical Storm Isaias will most likely have devolved into a tropical depression by the time it moves past us to our west, so we’ll see some moist winds and light rain during the day from midday to late afternoon, maybe an embedded bout of more moderate rain mixed in. Southeasterly gusts can be around 30 mph with some higher, but we’re not expecting much more in the way of damaging winds from this system. Near saturated conditions will feel muggy, but the high temps will be down as a result of the cloud cover and the precipitation, an afternoon high in the low 80’s is expected from a morning low in the low 70’s.
