Your RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Aug. 28/29, 2021 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 8/28/21:
Canadian high pressure, most everyone’s dear long lost friend returns for a weekend visit, with generally dry conditions with some scattered cloud cover through the day. Much cooler weather, afternoon highs in the mid 70’s with and evening low in the mid 60’s with a breeze out of the east gusting from time to time towards 30 mph.
Sunday 8/29/21:

The return flow across the front that has been held at bay by the high pressure area will not be strong enough to bring showers that will be developing along the frontal system all the way to us, so we’ll have another bout of dry low level air with increasing cloud cover through the afternoon with a high in the upper 70’s from morning lows in the low 60’s. Winds back off somewhat as we sit in the equilibrium between High and Low pressure.
