Weekly Update: List of RI Nursing Homes, Group Homes: Approx. 95 new deaths & data inconsistencies
This week’s nursing home/group home data has once again changed in how it is tabulated and the “totals” at the bottom of the columns have not been updated in several weeks.
Last week’s totals were not correct – the correct totals were approx. 2,721 cases and 639 deaths.
This week’s totals are approx. 2,746 cases and 734 deaths.
Some nursing home #s for cases decreased from last week to this week, with no explanation, as they should not be less going forward.
The overall increase of deaths were approximately 95.
Yesterday, the state reported a total # of deaths as 772 – if 734 were in congregate/nursing home settings, that would be over 90% deaths from nursing homes. We will seek clarification on the data.
Only 30% of nursing home/congregate living patients were treated in a hospital.
Because of the flawed data totals, please use this as a general guide.
