We Cook! Mill’s Tavern’s Whole Heirloom Tomato Salad Arugula, Balsamic Glaze Stracciatella
(Serves 2):
This vibrant summer salad celebrates peak-season heirloom tomatoes, known for their natural sweetness. Complemented by creamy stracciatella, peppery arugula and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, it’s a simple and elegant summer dish.
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 medium whole heirloom tomatoes
- 2 cups of arugula
- ½ cup stracciatella cheese
- 2 tbsp. balsamic glaze
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Assemble the Salad:
- On a serving plate, arrange arugula as a base and nestle in the whole heirloom tomatoes.
Add the Cheese:
- Spoon stracciatella over and around the tomatoes, allowing it to gently pool into the arugula.
Finish the Dish:
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil.
- Season generously with sea salt and cracked pepper.
- Garnish with torn basil leaves, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
