To Do in RI: Annual Portuguese Festival, Pawtucket
From Friday, Aug. 23, to Sunday, Aug. 25, the Portuguese Social Club will host its annual festival at 174 Portuguese Social Club Way. Musical performances will be performed all three days.
The public is invited to enjoy Portuguese foods, rides for children, various dance groups and a variety of entertainment. The feast relies on tradition and tried-and-true, maintaining old favorites from year to year. It will run from 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Visitors will have their choice of beers, wines, liquor, cocktails and soft drinks. Food will also be served, including barbecued chicken, sardines, shish kabobs, and steak sandwiches, among others.
There will be various entertainment throughout, including Nadia & Karma playing Portuguese and American soft rock on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, the five-person band Legacy, also at 7 p.m., playing Portuguese and American songs from the 1980s and 1990s.
