To Do in RI: 26th Annual Rose Show of the Rhode Island Rose Society
It’s time for the 26th Annual Rose Show! The event will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 1 to 3pm at Shepherd of the Valley Church in Hope, RI.
Consulting Rosarians will be available to speak with you and a Rose Presentation will take place at 2pm.
The theme is “That’s What Friends Are For”. Barbara Bicknell of the society said that this came about when walking through her garden talking to my friends – her roses – and trying to come up with some ideas for this year’s theme. While she was making sure her “friends” were tucked in for the winter, she started thinking of her human friends. Barbara said she broke into song (as she often does!) thinking of how friends take care of one another. Bicknell says, “The lyrics convey what I’ve heard quoted in our own Rhode Island Rose Society – Come for the Roses. Stay for the Friends.”
