The 2A Community – active volunteers for community causes
by Jeffrey Gross, contributing writer
On Monday, February 17th, The Ladies of the Federated Rhode Island Sportsmen Clubs and the Yellow Shirts joined forces with Barbara Morse and NBC10 in the annual Presidents Day Blood Drive for the RI Blood Center.
The Ladies of the Federated 2A MOMs, Michelle Camera, Aimee DeGregory, and Jen Moffett directed the numerous 2A attendees through the initial screening area and then into the blood draw room as well. Some of the ladies even donated blood, to boot.
The 2A Moms, the Federated RI Sportsmen Clubs, and the 2A Community step up to the plate and perform numerous community actions like blood donations, food and clothing for the needy, scholarships for college attendees, donations and fund raisers for public libraries, and environmental cleanups. Also, on the list of charity work they are involved in is assistance for the military and veterans.
I would like to acknowledge a good friend and a gentleman that is always right there at the forefront aiding and assisting the military and veterans. He is Humbert DeGregory. Humbert was one of the first in line to donate blood. Great job, Humbert!
As you can see, the 2A community is actively involved in multiple aspects of charity and community work. The 2A community is composed of citizens from all parts of the United States, and they work to help in many ways throughout the country, as well. Some feel that our opponents should step up along with us, but at the RI Blood Center drive, there were no Red Shirts to be seen.
Again, “great job” to the 2A MOMS, Ladies of the Federated, and the entire 2A community.
