The ABLTC Foundation will host its 17th Annual Silent Auction Spectacular to benefit its mission of helping adversely affected groups of people statewide virtually.
The Online Silent Auction begins on Thursday, March 28th with the live event set for Thursday, April 4th, running from 5:30 pm. until 9:30 pm, at the Warwick Country Club, located at 394 Narragansett Bay Avenue, in Warwick.
According to the ABLTC Foundation’s Board President, Rita Martin, funds raised through its annual signature event helps the most vulnerable people throughout the state. The Foundation achieves this through supporting programs, services, outreach and support to the elderly, disabled, financially exploited and neglected.
“The Silent Auction is the our biggest fundraiser of the year. We will be focusing all our efforts towards making the Silent Auction Spectacular event the best one yet,” she said. “We have some wonderful items that will attract interest and raise more money to further our work and mission. The Foundation has been very fortunate with the quality of donated items over the years. I am eternally grateful for the continued support of the business community and the public as well.”
The Auction Spectacular features sports and movie memorabilia, including autographed photos of local sports legends and Hollywood icons, gift cards to local eateries and services, wines, games, day trips and tickets to events such as plays or ball games.
Past live auction events have showcased incredible trips to Tuscany, St Marteen and other exotic locales. These trips are highly sought after and the bidding often gets intense, according to Martin. It all goes to a very important cause, she added.
“Your generosity helps to protect the rights of mothers, fathers, grandparents and all elderly and disabled individuals who are victims of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation while receiving long-term care services in Rhode Island,” she explained.
Those who sign up for the virtual silent auction will have a chance to bid on unique baskets and packages, including gift baskets filled with gift cards to local merchants, restaurants, services and more. There are a few great raffle drawings and some “Buy Now” items as well, according to Martin.
Participants who register and attend the live event are also eligible to one of several door prizes through drawings throughout the evening. There will be Premium Auction items that will be up for bid during the program, among them include: a Mohegan Sun Getaway for Two that includes a dinner and show of the winner’s choosing, a seven-day trip for four to Italy,
Besides entering the raffle and auction, people are also encouraged to make a one-time donation through the website. Martin said any amount helps in forwarding the mission and reaching their financial goals. Company sponsorship packages have also been available.
Registration for the online portion of the event is free and tickets are available to attend the live event. To sign up and attend the event go to www.abltc24.givesmart.com or text “abltc24” to 76278. Click on the prompts to complete the process.
