Sing! Newport Navy Chorus seeking new singers
The Newport Navy Chorus is seeking new singers in all voice ranges for their 2025 season. They perform benefit concerts for nonprofit charitable organizations, held in December and May. This year’s recipient will be Lucy’s Hearth in Middletown.
Membership is extended to active duty, reserve, veterans, and retired persons of all armed service branches, civilian employees of Department of Defense (DOD), Naval War College students and staff, and spouses and children over age 16.
There are no auditions and the ability to read music is not required – just a love of singing and helping the local community.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9:30 pm in room 100 of Perry Hall, building 440 on the Navy Base.
The Chorus invites potential new singers to the first three rehearsals on September 3, 10, and 17. Registration fee is $25.00.
For additional information contact chairperson Pat McGue at 401/835-2550 or music director Lori McDowell at 401/862-3334.
