“NEVER AGAIN”
Matthew 24:12
“The love of most people will grow cold due to the lawlessness and wickedness in the land”.
So goes a man’s heart, so goes the man.
Has your heart grown cold?
“NEVER AGAIN” is now.
It’s shocking.
Pray.
For Israel and for Palestine, and these UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

WOKE OF THE WEEK
The super of a New Jersey School district cancelled the district’s school-wide Halloween celebrations saying he was concerned about the potential for the celebrations to be offensive to people from some cultural and religious backgrounds. He also worried it was a financial hardship for some students. The super said teachers “overwhelmingly” agreed Halloween should be cancelled. Governor Phil Murphy’s response was a quick “give me a break!”

TO INSURE PROMPT SERVICE
We better know it as the acronym, TIP. A BentoBox survey of 2,500 diners found 75% of respondents tip at a bar, and 88% feel tipping at fine dining restaurants in appropriate. However, those surveyed seem to enjoy tipping because they feel it gives them control of the service. The survey shows diners aren’t big fans of automatic tips, and baby boomers (alligator arms) are the worst tippers. As far as tipping fast food workers goes, it’s NO BUENO. George Carlin said it best in his book “When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops”; “We have to stop this serving for counter service thing. No one should get a tip for standing erect, moving a few feet to one side, and picking up a muffin.”

TOO SOON? TOO SOON?
Exactly what’s the statute of limitations regarding having to qualify “X’ with “formerly known as Twitter”? A quick Google search shows “The name “X” is meant to be a placeholder for this new vision for Twitter. Musk has also said that he likes the letter “X” because it is a symbol of “new beginnings.” He believes that the name “X” reflects his vision for Twitter as a platform that is constantly evolving and growing.”

SPEAKING OF TOO SOON
All the Christmas stuff is out at Ocean State Job Lot in NK. During this weekend’s NFL games there was a plethora of “holiday ads” (some DID use the word Christmas). Get ready for a two month blitz. At least the Walmart spot featured the great Darlene Love’s “Marshmallow World” from Phil Spector’s 1963 album A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOU, possibly the greatest Rock and Roll Christmas album ever recorded complete with his WALL OF SOUND.

SPORTS SPEAK
Watching World Series interviews this week I’ve heard several players use the tired cliché “we’ll take it one game at a time.” Whenever I hear an athlete use that phrase, I always wonder… is there an option?

ON A CHAIN
WOOF! Hi gang! HAZEL HERE!
I wanted to mention this because it made me very sad. I was on a walk the other day with my dad and came upon the house “Gus” lives at. Day after day , year after year, I walk by and see “Gus” sitting in a pile of dirt chained to the fence. He doesn’t run, or play, or smile. He sits out there in the dirt. Though he can feel the sun I KNOW his heart longs to be doing dog things. To own one of us, it goes past a spontaneous moment or a sweet Christmas gift. It’s a long term commitment. Just wanted to remind all my human friends…. we have big hearts and feelings too. Ok? Make sure more of us don’t end up like “Gus”!
Till next week!!! WOOF WOOF!
HAZEL THE DOG

Please call someone about that poor dog on the chain. My heart hurts when I hear stories like that. Poor thing. He would be better off at the pound. At least people would be there to take care of him.
