RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, June 6/7, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 6/6/20:
Overnight rain ends early, and then a cold front moves through the area in the evening, but not before tossing some showers and maybe even a thunderstorm or two around during the afternoon. Wet morning lows in the upper 60’s will warm up to the low 80’s in humid afternoon air. Best guess for showers will be between 3pm and 7pm, and watch for a stray lightning bolt. Those can hurt.
Sunday 6/7/20:

Cold front is well out of our hair with some nice and dry conditions to enjoy for our early Sunday morning. Dewpoints will be dropping into the 50’s post-front, northerly continental winds gusting into the 20 mph range will help keep things dry, with the exception of an upper disturbance that will likely trigger an elevated shower or two somewhere over the area from late morning to mid afternoon. Showers will be widely scattered with a low probability of occurrence, but don’t be surprised to have to dodge some drops. Morning lows in the low 60’s and afternoon highs in the upper 60’s to around 70.
