RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Nov. 12/13, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 11/12/22:
Remnants of Tropical Depression Nicole roll through town overnight and through the early morning dumping wind driven rain over the area. Winds gusting towards 40 mph can be expected out of the south eventually shifting to westerly and weakening as the afternoon progresses, and sunshine actually breaks through and salvages the day. Afternoon highs in the low 70’s followed by evening lows in the mid 50’s.
Sunday 11/13/22:
Another chaser low pressure system kicks up some morning showers until midday or so, with cloud cover eventually breaking up enough for golden hour sunset. Afternoon highs in the low 50’s with evening low in the low 40’s and a light northwesterly breeze gusting towards 25 mph.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
