RI Weekend Weather Wrap, April 23/24, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 4/23/22:
High pressure settles in nicely with temps in the low 60’s with lots of sun that will amplify the feel of the seasonable warmth. Light breezes shifting from the northwest to the southwest through the day.
Sunday 4/24/22:
A warm front out over the midwest begins to approach with high cloud cover filtering in from the west through the day, no rain expected given the dryness in the lower levels. Afternoon highs in the low 50’s from lows in the mid 40’s with a light easterly breeze shifting to the south.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
