RI Weekend Weather for August 27/28, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 8/27/22:
High pressure builds in to our northwest and helps push out some of the humid and volatile air and energy from yesterday. We’ll see some cloud cover, but no serious threat for rain, maybe an isolated light shower somewhere inland from the greater Providence area. Morning lows in the upper 60’s warm to the low 80’s with slightly lower dewpoints and drier air with a light easterly breeze.
Sunday 8/28/22:

High pressure takes a more dominant position, drying the air out further, so a very nice real-feel. Mostly clear with some decorative fair weather cumulus clouds in the afternoon and a southeasterly breeze gusting to 25 mph.Morning lows in the low to mid 60’s rise to around 80 in the afternoon.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
