RI Weather, Tuesday 12/17/19:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Another Winter storm will strike Tuesday (before the official start of Winter, no less…), with snow beginning in the wee hours before sunrise and continuing until approximately 9-10am before mixing with slick and annoying sleet and freezing rain before changing to all rain by 1pm and continuing through Tuesday evening. The Greater Providence area will likely see 2-4 inches, with higher amounts in the typical areas (Foster-Gloucester, that’s you…), upwards of 6-8 inches, before everything gets the hard candy glaze of the mixed precip. Morning lows will settle in the mid 20’s and afternoon highs will climb to the mid 30’s, making the low level precip type something of a headache to determine.
Yeah, Happy Tuesday everyone!
