RI Weather Today, Wed, Oct. 7, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
An active cold front will pass through the area during the afternoon, and we could see some action in the form of showers and/or thunderstorms from 4 to 6 pm. These things tend to get shredded by the sea breeze influence, but we’ll at least get lots of gust wind out of the southwest, shifting to westerly after the front passes in the evening. Gusts in the 30’s to around 40 mph or even greater are possible, so be mindful of that, especially if your near any weak looking trees. Morning and evening lows in the mid 50’s around afternoon highs in the low 70’s expected.
