RI Weather Today – Tues, August 25, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A cold front to our north will swing through the area and help trigger more widespread showers/thunderstorms through the afternoon. Winds out of the west will neutralize the quelling effect of the sea breeze, so the chances of seeing some action are better, particularly in the hours between 5-8pm, but any time after 2pm is in play. Still warm and humid before the storms, highs around 90 up from a misty low in the low 70’s. Westerly winds shifting to northwesterly will be gusty in the storminess along the front.
