RI Weather Today, Monday, June 1, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
An upper level trough passes through and adds some energy and lift that will generate some cumulus cloud development, and even some widely scattered sun showers over the area in the afternoon. Most of the light rain will evaporate given the low relative humidity in the lower levels of the atmosphere, but some will make it the 5,000 feet from the bottom of the clouds to the surface before drying up. We’ll see. Be prepared though for a few drops.
