RI Weather Today, Friday 5/8/20
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
The end of the work week starts out nicely enough, some quality time with the sunrise before a high overcast blankets the region. Morning lows in the mid 40’s rise to the upper 50’s by afternoon as the overcast threatens, and eventually delivers by 4-5 pm, light rain starting and lasting through the overnight hours. A shifting wind moving from westerly to southwesterly will accompany the onset of the rain as the frontal system responsible for the rain approaches.
