RI Weather Today, Friday 4/10/20
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A secondary trough will wheel around from the north and concentrate some moisture and trigger occasional light rain showers mixed in with some sunshine that will manage to break through some of the cloud cover in the mid-afternoon. Winds today will be more of an issue than the rain, high northwesterly winds 20-30 mph gusting in the upper 30’s to around 40 mph! They will taper some in the evening, but will still be strong enough to generate some tree twig whistling. Given the northerly component to the wind, temps will be on the cool side, morning lows in the upper 30’s feeling like the 20’s, rising into a cool and raw zone in the 50’s.
