RI Weather Today – Fri, Dec. 4, 2020
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A low pressure system moves up from the southwest and absorbs the energy from a cold frontal system moving in from the northwest. Eventually this situation will develop into a Nor’Easter for the weekend, but a warm-ish one, where we in southern New England see predominantly rain, maybe some mixed precipitation stirred in. For now, rain will develop after 4pm after cloud cover thickens and lowers, temps in the mid 50’s during the afternoon from morning lows in the low 40’s. Southwesterly winds fairly steady with some gusts towards 30 mph.
