RI Weather for September 6, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Ripples of low pressure ride along a fairly stationary frontal boundary over the area, with an efficient rainfall delivery system that will extract nearly every possible drop through the day, with a conservative estimate of 3 inches of rain falling in twenty four hours.
Flooding of low lying areas likely to continue – on top of yesterday’s flooding and damage it will be a day of caution for driving.
A tight temperature range with lows in the mid 60’s and highs in the upper 60’s with a persistent but light easterly breeze.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
