Rhode Island Weekend Weather August 3/4, 2024 – Jack Donnelly
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 8/3/24:
Our low pressure system moves out to sea, and we should have a mix if sun and clouds for our Saturday, lots of heat, and enough humidity to allow for the air to be cut with a dull butter knife. Afternoon highs in the lower 90’s and lows in the low 70’s with a southwesterly breeze gusting in the afternoon.
It’s a “B” day!
Sunday 8/4/24:

Generally uneventful but still muggy Sunday in store, afternoon highs in the upper 80’s with still grotesque humidity, lows around 70 to match the dew point with a southwesterly breeze. Some cloud cover overhead later in the day and the outside chance for an evening boomer to the northwest with the approach of a cold front .
It’s a “B” day!

Jack:
I wonder…
Are alot of people (particularly “old people”) dying from this heat-wave?
I’m 81 and have gone with no air- conditionig; anld I can barely BREATHE.
I’m buying a small one for my bed-room, later today.
Are old folks “dying” all over the place, Jack-a-roo?
I cannot remember a wave as hot and lengthy as THIS ONE.
