Rhode Island Weather for Nov. 3, 2023 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Another brisk and cool day, but with brilliant sun shining through the afternoon. A cold front in the distant northwest presses some upper level cloud cover later in the early evening, but we’ll see no liquid excitement out of this system. Morning lows in the mid 30’s at the 6’ 6” height (2 meters), but cut about 5 degrees off of that for the actual surface temp, and we’re below freezing, so some frost likely until just after sunrise. Afternoon highs in the mid 50’s will feel nicer due to the sun with a southwesterly breeze rustling downed leaves in the afternoon.
It’s an “A-” day!

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena.
