Rhode Island Weather for Eclipse Day, April 8, 2024 – John Donnelly

by John Donnelly, meteorologist

Eclipse Day 4/8/24:

Finally, a nice day!

High pressure drives out the stubborn low pressure system that’s plagued us all of April. Just in time for some astrophysics and sacred geometry! It’s Eclipse Day, 2024!

We’ll have some high cloud cover that will veil some of the proceedings, but will allow for some UV-protected direct viewing – but to be safe, still use the approved eclipse densely shaded sunglasses.

Afternoon highs in the low 60’s, morning lows in the mid 30’s with a light westerly breeze.

Eclipse begins at 2:15pm with max coverage at 3:29pm and ends at 4:38pm.

It’s an “A” day!
