Pawtucket Middle Schools Launch “Get Fit”
Bristol County Savings Bank President & CEO Patrick J. Murray, Jr. will announce a $20,000 donation for the launch of the “Get Fit” after school fitness program at Pawtucket middle schools.
Get Fit Program Details:
· 14 week program from November 2019 to May 2020 (two 7-week program sessions)
· Program will run 2 days per week for 1.5 hours per session servicing alternating groups on each day
· Each group will consist of a maximum of 30 students (180 students max per session) (360 students total)
· 3 PE/Health teachers will run each session
· Students will participate in a supervised exercise routine to increase their stamina and overall health
· Each school will lead the students in warm-up activities, running, and calisthenics
· Each school will make use of their exercise room with cardio equipment (bikes, treadmills, rowing machines) with routine specifically designed for student needs
· Students will learn about the nutritional value of the food they eat and be guided to make better choices
Murray will be joined by Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien, Pawtucket School Department officials, teachers, and students at Goff Middle School to celebrate the launch of the program and to thank Bristol County Savings Bank for their donation.

The 3pm news event will be held at Goff Middle School, 974 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.
