Use of Providence Libraries as Warming Shelters – (not open overnight – and closed on Monday)
Libraries are often the best resource to come in out of the cold, read, do research, and some libraries will have social service staff to help out with information. Every community keeps their own schedule, but here info for Providence. If you are heading there and the weather is particularly bad, you should call to confirm they are open, especially in the event of a parking ban due to snow.
Please note that Monday, January 20 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and libraries will be closed.

It is not clear how this information is getting out to the homeless living on the street – in Providence, Fire Dept. EMTs have been going to encampments to let people know.
This is a developing story – if you know of any other resources, let us know and we will confirm and add them.
Thank you for this important, life acing information.
Really, this is all Ri has after the Governor pleaded? You know we have a terrorist here in Rhode Island right? It’s of non citizenship. Where are u Companies? I need a place I’ve begged R I housing go give me a copy of my 20 % voucher to a rent even on email once mine was destroyed by a break in at a closed property I find out Warwick Housing Authority and then illegally evicted, now my applications get tossed or filed with out a cal! . 18 months now. Then I’m told. 2 days on a art and there are people who destroyed my life living there. That’s the welcome house. One has been there 18 months said I got here just as u left. You mean tossed out in the rain after a lie. Even the police said you have nothing to worry about its the other person .they need to move the other person.
I need 24 hour shelter, I am permanently Puget disabled the person who killed my family broke my legs through the Rhode Island state police said to the doctor no Home help aid, no cast, mesh the left leg leave the right leg broken, no surgery. Her / his name is says its Julie Finn. Still not put in jail. Took my car refinanced my house, apt and follows me .
