New Year’s Eve with The Comedy Factory – Brendan Higgins
By Brendan Higgins, contributing writer
John Perrotta is the king of comedy in New England. He has been for decades. On New Year’s Eve he delivered two awesome nights of comedy in the Ocean State. The Kelley Gazzero Post in Cranston and the Carriage Inn in North Kingstown were the locations for a rockin’ night of music, food, drinks, and lots of laughs.
Sold out crowds attended both venues. They were treated to a phenomenal night of comedy and fun. I was unable to be in two places at once, so I covered the show at the Kelley Post. Perrotta, on the other hand, was in two places at once. He performed sets at both shows. He always gets the crowd involved. He has a way of asking audience members questions about who they are, what they do, and where they live. He always seems to get a good hearted joke out of it. He never seems to miss.
The line-up from top to bottom was excellent. Mike Cronin was the host for the evening. The first comedian he brought up was Coleen Galvin. Perrotta closed out the show. Also performing were Elaine Pelino, Caren Lioce, Don King, Dutchess SS, Rockin’ Joe Hebert, Stephanie Peters, Brian Vincent and The Prince of Mystery.
I would rank these comedians as the best around. Each of the performers were unique. They all had a different style. Most importantly, they all made the crowd laugh.
We live in a time when the world seems to be in a constant state of overwhelm. Everyone is doing the best they can to navigate through it. These shows presented by The Comedy Factory offer a break from day-to-day life and give people a chance to have fun and be entertained. Kudos to the comedians last night for helping everyone in attendance ring in the new year with humor and wit. Music was provided by Palace of Music.
The Comedy Factory has multiple shows scheduled for 2023. This is an affordable evening featuring good food and of course, lots of laughs.
