Meeting Street Telethon TODAY – will also honor Nick Cardi
The annual Telethon celebrates Meeting Street’s 73rd year today, January 25th, from 7pm to 11pm. Sponsored by Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses, and broadcast on WPRI-12, the telethon will include segments featuring children in Meeting Street’s programs and live interviews with supporters, staff and families.
The annual event, which attracts hundreds of guests and tens of thousands of viewers, is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. In 2019 the Telethon raised more than $1 million.
Going on simultaneously, at Meeting Street, will be tours and hospitality from Twin Oaks and Dunkin’ Donuts as well as chidlren’s activities. The address is 1000 Eddy Street, Providence.
A special recognition in honor of Nick Cardi, the eldest of the Cardi brothers, is being planned. Nick Cardi was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015 and died in 2019.
