Meet Tim at New England Comic Con, July 2-4

NECC will continue to feature all the fan favorites of comic cons and pop culture events including cosplay, costume contests, video game free play and competitions, celebrity guests signing autographs and photo opportunities, panels, VIP Experiences, and vendors of vintage and modern toys, comic books, jewelry, clothing, art and other pop culture must-haves, along with Artists and Authors and Entertainment.

Cosplay is an important part of our event, and the Regency Boxboro Hotel loves cosplayers and is the perfect place for cosplay environments for photographers. Cosplay fans: Please keep your costumes family friendly. Don’t miss any of our cosplay events and contests. Please see the Cosplay page for information as it becomes available.

Not to be left out, NECC will continue the young fan special events as we open the NECC Kidz! Where young fans and their parents can learn from comic book artists, voice actors, and others involved in this creative community.

This fan convention is at a hotel, and there is a lot of room for cosplay, contests, vendors and fun. The celebrities we bring in will not cost a lot or charge a lot for their autographs or photo-ops. As this is a family event, there will not be adult-only venues. Why? This is all in an effort to keep the cost low so fans of all budgets can attend.

Tim Jones is the creator, artist and writer of the widely popular, self-syndicated comic strip, “Sour Grapes” – a comic about “Aesop”, a miserable flying dog and his odd friends, all living in a problematic and troubled world.

Sour Grapes is currently published in multiple newspapers in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, California and Texas, and is also available online.

Tim grew up in Attleboro, Massachusetts and now lives in Smithfield, Rhode Island with his wife, and two daughters. He has been a freelance cartoonist for over 20 years. Tim is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and a member of ARIA (Association of Rhode Island Authors).

He has created several Sour Grapes compilation and story-coloring books. Tim teaches cartooning and speaks at local schools and libraries. He also appears at various book signings, events and comic conventions.
