Gimme’ Shelter – Tarra at the Providence Animal Control Center

Hello! I’m Tarra and I am about 3 years old, I was found as a stray as we all seem to be. I am a playful girl who LOVES her people, all people, I have many adoring fans.

As much as I love people, I am not fond of other dogs BUT I can walk past them and I am very well behaved. With some work, I might get more comfortable with dogs too and I have a friend who can help me with that. I am one of those dogs who really bonds with her people so I will be your best friend! After my playtime, I love to relax and I would be a total couch potato.

I am so smart and attentive and eager to learn, I have already learned a BUNCH of things during my stay at PAC. I am also house trained and very neat in my kennel. I would make a wonderful dog for an active family!

If you can see me on the PetFinder website (PETFINDER), I am still available! No phone calls please, everything is done online and we do need an application submitted and approved before scheduling a visit. We differ from other shelters by offering a one on one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected]

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
