Gimme’ Shelter: Morty is waiting at the Providence Animal Control Center
My name is Morty and I am about 3 years old! I came to PAC when my family couldn’t keep me any longer. I may not have been working out in their home, these things happen.
It took a few days but I have come out of my shell at PAC and I am interested in other cats, too. I am looking for a low-key home with one or no other cats, (females please).
I am on a urinary diet as I have had issues in the past with crystals and things like that. My urinalysis has come out clean and I am feeling good. Some of my special food will be sent home with me. No worries here – lots of water and canned food for me and I’ll be stress free!
If you can see me, I am still available! No phone calls please, everything is done online and we do need an application submitted and approved before scheduling a visit. We differ from other shelters by offering a one on one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected].

About the Providence Animal Control Division
The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.
As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
Hello, How does Morty do with dogs? I have an 11-year old 35 pound dog (Southeast Asian street dog from the Philippines) who was fine with my previous cats, most recently an 18-year old orange tabby who sadly died about a month ago. Thanks.
Please contact the Prov Animal Control Center. Their contact info is above. Good luck!
