Gimme’ Shelter: Kava is waiting at the Providence Animal Control Center

Meet Kova! She’s a 10 month old orange tabby teen looking for a new home.

“My person was un-housed and living in car and recognized that was no life for me. I wish they had somewhere to go too.”

Orange female you say?! It does happen! Kova isn’t an aloof frat boy like her orange male counterparts. She’s a curious, outgoing and playful girl who has lived with other cats. Since she’s so young, she could acclimate with most homes. Small dogs would probably be OK.

Interested in adding some orange to your life?

**We prefer everything regarding adoption be done via email, this way we can answer any time or day! We do need an application submitted before scheduling a visit. If you don’t have access to email, no worries, please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email PACadoptions@providenceri.gov or adoptions@friendsofpaccc.org**

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
