Gimme’ Shelter: Texas is here at the RISPCA – Cheryl Tudino
by Cheryl Tudino, contributing writer

Cheryl Tudino, RISPCA
Hi there, I’m Cheryl, a volunteer at the RISPCA in Warwick-dog walker, treat dispenser, and part-time hype woman for our adoptable pups.
Did you know Texas is the second largest U.S. state by area and population?
Come meet Texas!
Howdy, partner! My name is Texas… and just like the state, I’m a whole lotta dog with an even bigger heart.
At almost 4 years old, I am equal parts teddy bear, loyal sidekick, and full-time snuggly cowboy. My favorite hobby? Stickin’ closer than BBQ sauce on ribs. If you’ve got a couch, I got a claim on it and I will be sliding in right up against your ribs.
I am a very smart fella, if I do say so myself. I pick up tricks faster than a road runner on espresso, especially if cookies are involved… hint, hint. Whether we’re learnin’ somethin’ new or just moseyin’ around the house, I am happiest ridin’ shotgun right by your side.
To be honest, shelter life has been a bit if a rodeo with me. All that noise and commotion? Not exactly my cup of sweet tea. I am ready to hang up my spurs and settle down in a home where I can relax, soak up lots and lots of love, and be your best friend.
I have shared the corral with other dogs before and might do fine with a proper introduction. Because I am a big ol’ lovebug in a solid Texas sized package, I would do best with kiddos 8+. To be honest, sometimes I forget that I am built like a longhorn rather than a lapdog.
If you are lookin’ for a loyal best friend to ride through life with… saddle up and please adopt me.
Adopt Texas, because everything is bigger and better with him.
If I have lassoed your heart, apply to adopt me today at https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs or email [email protected] with any questions.
