Flames of Hope – TODAY

The annual Flames of Hope event of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation will be held tonight, beginning at 5pm at Station Park in front of the RI State House, continuing at 7pm with the traditional lighting and procession of the Flames of Hope Torch event, and ending at 9:30pm with a Fireworks demonstration.

The foundation encourages people to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy the food trucks and dancing, if you are not attending a ticketed event.

The Flames of Hope Light represents a beacon in our hearts.  A beacon that represents our loved ones that are actively in treatment, the survivors and thrivers, the Metavivors who continue their fight everyday and our friends and family that have sadly gone before us.

The iconic Illuminations of Life ceremony and the Torch procession is the pinnacle of the Flames of Hope Weekend. This tribute honors breast cancer survivors and remembers those lost with a moving program witnessed by thousands as it unfolds on the Rhode Island State House steps.

The State Ballet of Rhode Island tells a story through beautiful choreography is punctuated by the lighting of the state house in pink.

While enjoying the events and emotions of the Gloria Gemma event, do not forget that the reason for it all is to raise funds to support women and families in their lifesaving battle against breast cancer.
