Family-Friendly Vaccination Day of Action – TODAY
A COVID-19 Family-Friendly Vaccine Event will happen TODAY, Sunday, September 26th at the Providence Career and Technical Academy, 41 Fricker Street in Providence.
The event begins with the clinic opening at 11, and continues with a speaking program at noon. The clinic will run until 3pm.
The event is hosted by Governor McKee, Lt. Governor Sabina Matos, the Rhode Island Department of Education with Commissioner Angelica Infante-Green, the Rhode Island Department of Health, the Providence Public School District, and Poder 102.FM/1110AM Radio.
The event is being held to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations. Providence continues to have lower vaccination rates than other cities and towns in Rhode Island. The state is elevating outreach to encourage vaccination.
Sunday’s clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine, which can be administered to community members 12 and older. No health insurance or ID are required and no appointments are necessary. Vaccinations are free of charge.
Every person that gets vaccinated will receive a $5 Dunkin’ gift card and will be eligible to enter a raffle with prizes including Apple Airpods, sponsorship of Fidelity Investments, gift cards to Walmart and PriceRite, and other home electronics.
Registration for the event is encouraged here. Walk-ins are welcome.
