I am Rhode Island born and bred, a professional writer whose new book, Az and Me: A Partner’s Journey with Alzheimer’s has been on Amazon’s Best Sellers’ List since its publication this past June. It is a chronicle of all that I earned in my 13+ years as sole caregiver to my husband, diagnosed with this cognitive disease. My book weaves together anecdotes of real life experiences of living with one so afflicted, “lessons” I learned along the way, poetry (my own and some is humorous, indeed). Three RI Top Docs herald my work and appear in the text. It is available on Amazon. I will expand my speaking tour in 2025 to all who request my talk.

***In her talks, Colleen weaves together anecdotes of life with the cognitively impaired…inspirational events…”lessons” learned (such as how to know if a lawyer is really accredited in “senior issues;” why you need to get financial advice as soon as possible; why dress your partner in shout-out colors…why give them fake purses or faux wallets…how you check to see if your mate qualifies for Veteran benefits.”)
The author is an engaging speaker whose humor comes through in her presentations. Signed copies of her new Amazon Best Seller,
Az and Me: A Partner’s Journey with Alzheimer’s ($25.00) will be available at her talk. This book is a manual or guide to help you on your Caregiver journey.
