Catholic School Week – interest high into parochial schools
Catholic Schools Week starts today and runs, as scheduled now, until February 5. Given the weather situation, dates and times may change of already scheduled open houses and events, some of which are today.
If you’ve wondered about a Catholic school education, this could be the time to take a look. With the pandemic, there has been a lot of dissatisfaction with public, private, charter, and even parochial schools. Parents have opted to home school, when they thought they never would go for that – and some have created small pods to educate their children in small groups, with a hired educator and parent involvement.
Interest has perhaps never been so high in looking at all the educational options. Catholic schools and parochial schools, in general, present another option – offering the most back-to-basics education with an ethical/religious/spiritual bent.
Each school, according to the Diocese of Providence, “strives to generate a community that is permeated by the gospel spirit of love and freedom. In these communities, aided by a comprehensive curriculum, a highly professional faculty endeavors to relate all of human culture to the goodness of salvation. Accordingly, the light of faith illuminates everything that the students gradually come to know about the world, about life and about the human person”.
Below is a listing of schools – of course open houses set for today may be rescheduling, so get in touch before you venture out in this bad weather. As an FYI, Bishop Tobin has suspended the obligation to go to church today, so we think most of the events set for today will be rescheduled. You can also set up a private appointment to visit.
