The law office of Roberts, Carroll, Feldstein & Peirce, Inc. (RCFP) announces two attorneys have been selected to the Thomson Reuters Rhode Island Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.
RCFP Managing Shareholder Edward G. Avila, Esq. was named to the Super Lawyers list. Each year, Super Lawyers recognizes the top lawyers in the state via peer nomination, independent research, and peer evaluation. Avila, who joined the firm in 1987, focuses his practice on representing financial institutions in commercial lending transactions and other banking matters. He also represents small businesses in the areas of finance, corporate law and acquisitions. Avila earned his juris doctor degree from Boston College Law School (1987) after graduating from Providence College (1984) and is a resident of Swansea, Mass.
James D. Cullen, Esq. was named to the Rising Stars list. This is a list of the legal profession’s up-and-coming attorneys either under age 40 or practicing for 10 years or less. Cullen joined RCFP in 2011. He is a civil litigator focused on professional malpractice defense, as well as business, labor and employment law. After graduating from the school of law at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) in 2008, he earned a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Chicago Law School. He is a resident of Barrington, R.I.
