Business Beat: Abe Cohen new VP of Business Development for RI, Marquis Health Consulting
Marquis Health Consulting Services has appointed Abe Cohen, a health care development and strategy executive, as Vice President of Business Development for Rhode Island.
Cohen has more than a decade of experience in the long-term care industry, beginning with administrative roles in skilled nursing facilities and, more recently, leveraging those skills and knowledge in leading business development initiatives for health care providers. He has developed collaborative relationships with health care providers to further enhance the continuum of patient care.
“With his energy and combination of operational and business development experience in the skilled nursing profession, Abe will have an important impact on the strategic growth of our organization in Rhode Island,” said Sharon Donaghue, New England Division President for Marquis Health Consulting Services.
Cohen will lead business development initiatives for seven skilled nursing facilities in Rhode Island that are supported by Marquis Health Consulting Services:
- Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingstown
- Elmhurst Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Providence
- Heritage Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Smithfield
- Lincolnwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in North Providence
- Morgan Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Johnston
- Riverview Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Coventry
- Westerly Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Westerly

Prior to joining Marquis Health, Cohen served as the chief marketing and business development officer for a skilled nursing facility operator based in New Jersey. He previously served as chief marketing officer for a boutique health care marketing firm serving skilled nursing facilities nationwide.
Cohen received a bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael in Brooklyn, N.Y., and an associate’s degree in hospital and health care facilities administration from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He successfully completed the New York State Department of Health licensure program for nursing home administrators.
