Booster shots for all Americans – CDC announcement imminent
The CDC is expected to recommend booster vaccines be given to all Americans, regardless of age, 8 months after their second vaccinations. This recommendation is for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was not mentioned.
These are unconfirmed but being reported by major media outlets.
At present, recommendations for boosters were restricted to the immuno-compromised.
In Israel, they began with boosters for all over 65, approximately 7 months after initial vaccines. Israel only used the Pfizer vaccine.
This new recommendation is expected this week, and is moved up from a staggered plan out of concern for the Delta strain.
This is a developing story.
